Women 2 Women hosting workshops to change lives

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A local ministry has made it its mission to help women who may be homeless or battling addiction, and they're doing it through interactive workshops.

"What Women 2 Women does is come in and bring that piece that we still love you," Women 2 Women Ministries member Denise Robison said, "That you are in an important part of society."

Participant Amanda Diaz said she is thankful for Women 2 Women Ministries, which gave her and her daughter Lydia that hand up.

"It gives us a lot of hope," Diaz said. "It's a good feeling because me and my daughter get to spend more time together."

Every month, the organization hosts workshops at Second Baptist Church. Each workshop carries life lessons geared toward women struggling with hardship.

The latest workshop is focused on the importance of eating healthy and cooking habits.

"It's a support for our ladies," Robinson said, "teaching them things that may not be in a regular curriculum."

The Women 2 Women team said the group workshops are to remind participants they're not alone.

"They're donating their time just to spend with us," Diaz said, "just to help and let us know, this ain't the end and there's more to come."
